Welcome to the Game Show Temple Tape Trading Coliseum, the place where tape trading keeps evolving among many game show tape traders. Tape trading helps people re-live their best game show favorites. Other sites do this besides me, and I've gotten the hang of this. Look at the shows I have in the respected letters:

Look over what you'd like, and then when the light is in the right position, you may e-mail me for a trade. Do note I'm looking over my episodes and am labeling my tapes and DVDs to ensure I can locate them faster, and those symbols will eventually appear, despite some of them already have the symbols. Now, to those of you who are new to game show tape trading, rules we must abide by. Heed these carefully. All experts know them, but for you newbies, these are things that will DENY your request:

1. Trading for money! No way guys, I don't make money off trading, nor do I intend to. It is an illegal act of the United States of America, as these shows are copyrighted material. If you request a trade with money, I will deny your request right there on the dot. And be forewarned I will NOT offer a second chance, nor will I respond if you ask to trade with money. I will even warn other people about you.
2. Trading for blank tapes/DVDs. Yes they are useful to get traded episodes up, but do you really think you'd trade blank stuff to get your episodes? No way Jose, because that's also another illegal act! Trading episodes for blank tapes/DVDs is a big strike. Be forewarned if you trick me and give me blank tapes/DVDs, I will warn other people about you. Don't even think about it!

Now, since that's out of the way, let's talk the real deal. If you're ready to do a trade, simply e-mail me with the title "TAPE TRADE REQUEST". The first e-mail is what counts, as you request a trade, but do NOT send me any requests as of yet. Simply send the request, and if the light is green or yellow (depending on the trading status), I shall respond. If it's red, I will not respond until my trading light switches. When I respond, I will ask for your "have list," which is a list of episodes you have. I always reply back, regardless of if I want to trade with you or not, even if it takes me a while. If we strike a deal, as in your shows are good enough for me, we reply to each other with our requests. After we're done with each other's parts, if you're a first-time trader with me, we'll exchange mailing addresses, after which I store it in my address book so that if we trade again in the future, we won't have to go through the addresses again. You can use any method of mailing (such as Priority Mail, First Class, Media Mail, any type). I prefer using either Certified Mail or Priority Mail to ensure it gets to you in a minimum of 3 days, both of them work that way. I will include Delivery Confirmation to ensure that it gets to you. I use USPS to send my tapes/DVDs, so when I send off your part, I get a 20-digit receipt number and keep an eye on it using Track & Confirm on the main USPS site. You may also do the same when you send off your part.

NOTE: I do have a DVD ripper for my episodes on DVD, but to those who prefer VHSs from me, my second VCR is croaked and can't do any VHS trades until further notice. All I can do presently is DVDs. (July 25th, 2009)

REQUIREMENTS FOR A TAPE/DVD:
I don't have a maximum of trade hours, though my minimum is 2 hours. I always work with your hours. If you do have a minimum and/or maximum hours, I work with yours but I suggest we use the same number of trade hours (ex. 2 hours for 2 hours). If you do my episodes on VHS, I SERIOUSLY suggest you use tapes manufactured by Sony, Maxell, TDK and RCA. However, I SERIOUSLY do not recommend Fuji tapes as they wear out more quicker than others. Please use anything BESIDES Fuji!

WHAT IF I HAVE COMMERCIALS:
I can include them only if you want. That's YOUR request

"I WANT TO TRADE WITH YOU NOW! THESE ARE MY REQUESTS...":
No no no no no! Don't go that fast! Your first e-mail is what counts, as I said before. When you request immediately without checking, I might deny your requests. You've GOT to make sure I have the time, because even if my light is green, something can happen and the light can turn red in a snap. You also need to be very careful. I remember getting immediate requests and that person didn't even have a have list...and, I even got the mailing address! Folks, you've got to have a have list, because I can't do this and get nothing in return. Please make sure you have some episodes, and make sure I have the time, and please do NOT include your requests in the first e-mail...and yes, that INCLUDES your mailing address!

"HEY, WAIT. I WANT TO TRADE BUT DON'T HAVE ANY GAME SHOW EPISODES. CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT?":
As a matter of fact, yes I can. As long as you don't do anything that will deny your request (read above), we can do something. If you have GSN, you can tape shows off of that (as long as it's game show-related). If you do not have GSN, don't fear. I have non-game show interests, like The People's Court, Storm Stories, anything on tornadoes, that sort of stuff, and those can be found on my want list in the non-game show section. Check back at times

My WANT LIST will show you what I'm preferably on the hunt for. I do update it from time-to-time, so check back sometimes

So, set to trade? Just send me an e-mail at thegstemple (at) yahoo (dot) com with the title TAPE TRADE REQUEST. Don't send me your have list or requests until I respond, but do bear in mind the light at the top of the page. If the light is red, I will NOT respond until the light turns green or yellow, depending on trading status with the other traders).
