If you guys know me, I grew up watching The Joker's Wild 1990 with Pat Finn. I know how some of you guys feel about it, but in my view, it was a good twist on answering questions. It was all just reversed.
I then learned about Thomas Van Dyke over the Internet, finding out he was the all-time champion. When I first traded with Kenneth Williams, his episode was the first that I requested. I saw how he smoked the other opponents to get him to $55,562. I then posted it on YouTube, showing how he did.
And then, one day in the fall of last year, I get a comment about Thomas's ponytail style, and I find out from that user that he's in good friendship with Thomas, and Thomas and I contacted each other through e-mail and we went ahead and confirmed an interview. Thomas said he wanted to do the interview by phone, and that gave me a green light to have him on Game Show Temple LIVE!, because I knew the whole community may have had other questions than I did.
On November 15th, 2008, that's when we scheduled Thomas to be on GST Live!. After he gave me his phone number, I contacted him to make sure he was all set to go, and then the show began. Thomas was so amazing to talk to, and everyone who called in just couldn't stop asking questions, and Thomas was so hilarious as well, even setting a record number of callers at that particular time. Thomas told us how he was connected with Firehouse 23, how he still has two cars for him and his wife, and how everything got off to a big start since his win. He also pointed out to me as an example of how far I've gotten in the game show world with the Game Show Temple. More details on Thomas's interview page
